Why is Pickleball called Pickleball?
There are two theories and no one knows which one is true. Do you?
Inventor's Dog: Some believe it was named after the inventor's dog, "Pickles", who loved chasing the ball. Cute name though!
A boat: Others suggest that it comes from the term "pickle boat", referring to a boat made up of leftover rowers, much like how Pickleball was created by combining elements of different sports.

Pickleball Rules - How to play the game?
Let's quickly walk you through the rules and make you Pickleball Ready!!
Serving Rules
The serve must be made underhand with the paddle contacting the ball below the waist
The server must stand behind the baseline and hit the ball diagonally to the opponent’s service court
The serve must clear the non-volley zone (kitchen) and land in the correct service box.
Only one serve attempt is allowed, except in the case of a let (when the ball touches the net but lands in the correct service box)
In doubles, both players on a team serve before the serve is passed to the opposing team
If a server commits a fault, the serve moves to their partner (in doubles) before changing possession to the opposing team after two consecutive faults
Double-Bounce Rule:
When the ball is served, the receiving team must let it bounce before returning it.
The serving team must also let it bounce before hitting it back.
After these two bounces, both teams can volley or hit the ball off a bounce
This prevents aggressive net play and ensures longer rallies.
Non-Volley Zone (Kitchen) Rule:
The kitchen is a 7-foot area on both sides of the net where players cannot volley (hit it in the air) the ball
If a player volleys the ball while stepping into or touching the kitchen, it results in a fault
Players can step into the kitchen only if the ball has already bounced there
The serve must clear the non-volley zone (kitchen) and land in the correct service box
Faults and Scoring
A fault occurs if:
The ball is hit out of bounds.
The ball does not clear the net.
A player volleys from within the kitchen.
A serve lands outside the correct service box.
Only the serving team can score points. If the serving team commits a fault, they do not score, and the serve moves to the next server in doubles or to the opposing team in singles
In doubles, after the first server on a team faults, the serve moves to their partner. If the second server also faults, the serve changes to the opposing team
The only exception is at the start of the game when only one player from the first serving team serves before losing possession
Winning the game
Games are typically played to 11 points, but some competitive matches extend to 15 or 21 points
A team must win by at least 2 points
Only the serving team can score points. The serving team scores when they win a rally.
The opposing (receiving) team cannot score but gains the opportunity to serve if they win the rally.
In doubles, the serve moves between teammates before transitioning to the opposing team after two consecutive faults
